Pictures from Our Weekend In Chicago

Margaret, Rumple, Lara and I left Champaign Friday afternoon. By the time we arrived in Chicago, Lara and I were starving (as usual). We had a big dinner at Big Bowl (her more than me) and then called it a night.

Before heading home, we walked around Chicago ... here some pictures from that first night.

The second thing Saturday morning was the Health & Fitness Expo at the Hilton. Along with a little shopping, we met marathon great Frank Shorter and even got his autograph but forgot the camera.

After lunch at foodlife in Water Tower Place we walked around Chicago. Lara had extra garlic with her pasta so I had to find someone else to kiss.

Later in the afternoon we went up to the top of the John Hancock Building ... and almost fell off!!!!

Here's the view of downtown Chicago from the observation deck of JHB and another from Michigan Ave (where's Lara?)

Saturday closed with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (where she ate more than me again!) ... and dessert at Moonstruck (chocolate for her too).

Sunday was race day. After breakfast and the morning preparation, we headed down to the course. We made sure to pick out a meeting point for after the race cause Lara thought I was gonna finish way before her.

I don't think either of us expected Lara to catch me before I even made it to our meeting point. Good race for both of us, I went 34:00 and Lara did 36:44 ... I puked at the finish line while she spent 30seconds recovering and then ran to find me.

After the race we went to the Art Institute of Chicago and then were completely pooped and ready to head back to Champaign (thanks for the ride Dan). But before leaving we had to make one last stop at Moonstruck.
