It's New Year's day and I finally caved in and got a hair cut from Salon Parag. Here are the before and after.

On the weekend of January 4th and 5th, we finally got a good snowfall, 37cm to be exact. That meant it was time to hit the trails. Parag and I skied almost everyday anyways, but a fresh snowfall only made the scenery more beautiful. Here are pictures from one of Parag's last days in Fredericton. That day, we had gone skiing with Kathleen (and she says she never falls!)

Dad was asking me whether Lara's pets recognized me by now (we've been together for almost 6 weeks now). Ofcourse they do! We decided to take pictures of them to show everyone who checks this page. In the last pic, notice how Bumble is on me ... he's my favorite and Lara knows that I'm his favorite :)

We ran the Shamrock Shuffle 8k in Chicago this past weekend. Excellent, excellent time! Check out the pictures.

It is now mid-April and the temperature is picking up and it's time for the racing season to get under way. This past weekend I ran one of the funnest and toughest races of my life. It's Wednesday and I'm still sore. Check out the pictures.

After not having pictures from my previous two races, we finally had enough people racing this weekend that we got tons of pics for this page. The event was the Ironhorse triathlon and the distances were 2.4k swim, 72k bike, 16k run. I had a great race. Pictures are here. Only one more race to go this year :(

Immediately after Ironhorse, Lara and I left for Farmington, CT to visit with her family. This would be my first time ever in Connecticut and definitely my first time meeting her family. Ofcourse I was a little nervous, but in the end everything went extremely well and I had a great time (Email me for the link to the pictures).

Since coming back from Connecticut, it's been all training (and a little work ofcourse). My last race of the year was last weekend, the Dairyland triathlon. This would be my first race where big prize money was being offered and therefore had a nice pro line-up. Lisa Bentley won the women's division and there are a couple pictures of her along with me and the F.I.T. guys here.

The day after Dairyland, it was off to California for Al's wedding and my first days away from Larapan since we got together in February. Craig, Parag, and I were driving from Champaign to Hollywood and back (via a different route) in 13 days. Read the whole story.

Within two days of being home from this summer's road trip, Lara, Parag, and myself headed to Fredericton. This trip is summed up on Lara's and my other webpage: LZMS: Fredericton.

A new semester in a new degree began in August. I'm now doing my MBA, and will probably concentrate in either Finance or Marketing. I'm still at the University of Illinois too. Here's a picture of the new me in the new program.

Triathlon season came to a close for me in September with the Boilerman Olympic distance race. Pictures and race report are at: LZMS: Boilerman. Also related to triathlon, I sold my Softride and am planning on racing sprints only next summer on my modified track bike (see below).

We had yet another trip to Connecticut in October. This time it was for Lara's friend, Barrett's, wedding. This was also my opportunity to ask The Chief (Dr. Z) for permission to marry his daughter. I think he likes me cause he said yes :p Here are some pictures from that trip.

Amidst the school and triathlon, the best thing that has happened to me this semester/year/life is that Lara and I are finally engaged. I asked her on Monday Nov. 24th. Ofcourse we're both very excited and the official wedding is tentatively scheduled for June 20, 2004 in Farmington, CT (there will also be a small hindu ceremony and big reception in Fredericton in late August 2004). Save the date!!

Here are some other pictures from this semester so far. The first is of Miami, Dr Freeman's horse. We were taking care of him, 3 other horses and his 3 dogs one weekend when he was out of town. The next is Lara and I (along with some others) at a "worst-dress" party one Saturday night ... they never said guys can't compete. Last but not least are two from our weekend with Park in Chicago (fun time as usual).

Finally, check out Lara's and my combined website (LZMS) for pictures of our house and pets.

Christmas vacation was very busy this year since Lara had to meet all the family and close friends. Over the 6 days she was at home, we had 7 lunches/dinners to attend. Once she left things calmed down. She went to florida to visit her parents and start the planning for the Connecticut wedding while I stayed in Fredericton to help Mom and Dad plan the Fredericton wedding.
Parag never came home this Christmas. So Christmas day was very quiet and humble. Here are a couple pictures from the morning.

Like I wrote last year, another eventful year has come to a close. Last year was all about me. I lived by myself for most of it and did what I wanted to on my schedule. This year was all about Lara AND I. Ever since we met we've been unseparable and I wouldn't have it any other way. After experiencing what I wanted to on my own in 2002, finding Lara made this year the best one yet (and I'm sure things are only going to get better from here).
So this year I grew up and matured in a different way than any other year. I've learned (and continue to learn) about compromise and companionship. I've grown into a man (finally) ... at least Lara thinks so ... except for the times when I act like I'm 5 :)
